Wool Diaper Covers and Soakers are a wonderful staple for your cloth diapering system. Soft and stretchy, our wool covers will never itch or irritate your baby’s skin as they are processed without the use of harsh chemicals or dyes. Wool is an excellent fiber for diaper covers because it ‘breathes’ allowing your baby’s skin to get plenty of air and circulation while still providing a natural moisture barrier as the natural lanolin of the wool allows it to hold up to 30% of its weight in moisture before feeling wet to the touch; this makes wool a wonderful choice for nighttime covers or anytime covers if your baby is a heavy wetter. Lanolin also makes wool naturally anti-bacterial so wool covers don’t retain a urine smell. Simply air out between uses to freshen and dry. As long as they are not soiled, your wool diaper covers will only need to be washed every few weeks with a wool wash, and can be re-lanolized as needed with a lanolin wool cure to keep them from leaking. If you are going to be using a wool cover or soaker for nighttime use, we recommend 2-4 covers. If you are going to be using wool for your baby both day and night, we recommend 4-8 covers for your diapering system.
