Pocket Diapers consist of either a 2 or 3 piece diapering system: the diaper itself and the diaper insert. Pocket diapers are a type of fitted diapers that have an inner fabric layer, an outer fabric or waterproof layer, with a pocket between the two layers to fill with absorbent fabric. The absorbent fabric that is inserted into the pocket may be referred to as an Insert, Doubler, or Stuffer, or you can even use a Flat or Pre-fold diaper in the pocket. Pocket diapers are great because you can customize the level of absorbency according to your baby’s individual wetting needs simply by adding less or more fabric into the pocket of the diaper. This feature makes it convenient to use the same diapers for day time as well as over night. Depending on whether or not the outer layer of fabric is waterproof, you may or may not need a diaper cover when using Pocket Diapers.
